Brief history, I am 33, I have a 4 year old girl. I had my tubes tied in 2005. Shortly after, I started having two periods a month. Not every month..just regularly irregular. Pain has been increasing with "second" period. Went to the dr. Blood test came back fine. I have two small cysts on my ovaries and a "thickening" on the top of my uterus. Biopsy for that is next Wed. Dr. said it could just be where I was in my cycle. Anyone else gone through this? A little nervous about the proceedure.

Well in my opinion, the worst thing about a biopsy is the cramping and discharge afterwards.
*Sorry to be graphic but I want to help*
When they do a biopsy they put a liquid on the location of the biopsy to stop it from bleeding bad. That liquid makes the blood "clump" and the best was I can describe it is that it looks like dark brown/black gravel. Almost like little rocks. And can be uncomfortable when you wipe. You should wear a pantyliner for a few days. I have had multiple and have never had any problems.
*GOOD LUCK WITH EVERYTHING*

A uterine biopsy is a biopsy of the liner of the uterus. The more effective tissue in the liner the more effective of a probability it should be endometrial hyperplasia...which will be a pre cancerous project. it really is nice then that there wasn't a tremendous form of tissue amassed.

My mom just had a hysterectomy due to 'thickening' in her uterine walls that was found to be endometriosis (sp?). She is 57, though. She never had a history of endometriosis, it just showed up. She, too, was having irregular periods. Funny thing was, she already went thru menopause at the age of 32....She went thru it VERY early. :(

Good luck to you. My mom had no trouble with her biopsy procedure.

I had an endometrial biopsy done back in '04 before an endometrial ablation.

Take some ibuprofen before the procedure. You will feel some minor cramping.

Good luck!

a biopsy is no big deal, it won't hurt, and it will give you peace of mind. I would wager that you have endometriosis, a common complaint among women that have had a tubal ligation, and easily treated. Relax, don't put the cart before the horse.
