I have been unemployed for 4 months and had no luck finding work. The stress is really affecting my marriage, which had problems in the first place, and I really feel we need to see someone, but we have very little money to do so. Any suggestions on "charity cases" counseling?

Hi there!
Let me tell you to just call around to Counseling places. Most of them have a "sliding scale" sort of deal so that Counseling IS affordable, and man, it's worth every penny!

Also, you can work out other pymts. but depends on the Office. They will work with you. Go ahead and call a few places, ok?

I had to do this before and it is the best way.
remember, ask about the "sliding scale."

Good luck to you both.

Try a church or get on line and see about counseling and support groups in your area. All so some counseling takes insurance and will even let you make payments. Sometimes they offer things like that at a community center or even how about a elder in the are you live in that is on neutral ground?

No such of a thing as a charity case counseling, but yes you can usually go to your local christian clinic and will help based on your income since you have none well you get the idea. If you don't know where one is at you can usually go to a church and ask the preacher where it is and they will tell you or he will counsel you.

Go to your nearest small church where the pastor/vicar/priest/minister has time to do more than run a giant Cosmic Wallmart and ask him for help. If he is a real believer you will get as much as you need when you need it and it wont cost you anything. That is what I would do. Keep away from anyone who immediately wants you to join anything beause they will be indicating that their need for numbers is greater than your need for help. I don't say it will be easy but it will be rewarding and you might even find a job while you are at it.

You can contact your county Mental Health department. They will have a list of counselors that will charge you according to how much income you have. Sometimes you'll only have to pay $5.00. Good luck finding a job and with your marriage.

This program is AWESOME!!!! It's made to give YOU (and your spouse) the resources/skill to work on problems, with out NEEDING to see a counselor. However, if you absolutely need to speak to someone they have a discussion forum where you can speak to thousands of couples that have learned this program or you can set up a phone and/or face to face appointment with Dr. Harley and his staff.
When you visit the site for the first time check out "Basic Concepts" first. You will get the most useful information from this.

(Most of the information is free, the only cost to you would be to purchase books and set up face to face appointments)

If you don't mind, go see the minister of your neighborhood church. May have to become members.
