Yes, but it allows a child to brought into the world by someone who TRULY wants it. I think that is really special.

No, I don't think that it's wrong. What other choice is there - go pick up a guy at a bar, or go onto Craigs List?

Artificial Insemination - at least you get to review the background of the father and make an intelligent decision. Otherwise, it's random.

You can use a sperm donor that you know. Get a friend to ejaculate into a condom and invert it and insert it when ovulating, a pregnancy will occur, yay.

No artificial insemination at all, all natural.

But there's nothing wrong with artificial, it does get past the whole legal thing.

Good question. I personally don't have a problem with artificial insemination for women who can't get pregnant "the old fashioned way".

The question about what do you do if the individual wants to know who their biological father is, is a good one. I guess you'd just be doing best to tell them the truth about how they were conceived.

it amazes me that people care how the kids that aren't here feel but could care less about the ones that are here. who cares it's just like a man having a kid and walking out. only difference is the child will or may have two parents same sex or not that truely care about them. when you throw a kid into the adoption circuite they may as well have been test tube babies through and through cause they don't get any information on the mother or the father. especially when you live in places like NC.

Yes the child might want to know who their father is but im sure they would rather have life without a father than no life. I think it would be better if people who went for this treatment would adopt but its their choice and they should be free to use this service.

HONESTLY IN MY OPINION I WOULD SAY NO IT NOT WRONG. MY GOD SISTER IS A RESULT OF ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION AND HER PARENTS ARE LESBIANS. IT IS THE WAY YOU COMMUNICATE WITH THE CHILD THAT WILL DETERMINE THEIR LEVEL OF UNDERSTANING OF IT ALL. SHE IS FIVE NOW AND AND LOVED GREATLY BY ALL SHE IS AND EXCEPTIONAL STUDENT AND HAS BEEN ACCEPTED TO ONE OF THE TOP PRIVATE SCHOOLS IN THE COUNTRY, SO HER ABILITY TO SEEK ANSWERS IS BY FAR GREAT... THE TRUTH AND UNCONDITIONAL LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING WILL HELP WITH ALL QUESTIONS...NOW AND IN THE FUTURE. SO OF COURSE THE CHILD WILL WANT TO KNOW ALL STEPS THAT WAS NEEDED TO GIVE HER LIFE IN THIS UNIQUE WAY, BUT IT IS UP TO MOTHER TO BE TRUTHFUL YET TACTFUL AND EXPLAIN ON A LEVEL WHERE THEY SEE FIT HER THAT AGE RANGE AND PERSONALITY BEING EVERY CHILD IS DIFFERENT. KNOWING THE TRUTH AND KNOWING YOU ARE LOVED NO
MATTER WHAT..... OUT WAYS ALL:)

Most doctors offices keep track of who the donor is, they have to. So it's not really that anonymous. Later on if the child would like to find their father, they usually contact the father and see if he wants to have and contact with the child. if so, then they meet.

It can't be wrong if the child is loved and if the child is truely loved then why care who donated the sperm but the child must be unconditionally loved

It is not worng,if the child is not lied to and told of the reasonings behind why A.I. was done.I have knoiwn children such as these, and though they are curious, many are just happy to be alive, and that they are so wanted and loved by their parents.
