I think so. My dog is sick and she is the nicest dog ever, not just saying that cuz she's mine either. She always has a friendly disposition and has never growled at anyone ever!!! Not even another dog. I think she will go to heaven, but some people say dogs don't have souls, what do you think?

My more fundementalist friends may disagree with me, but I am a firm believer in Doggy Heaven. I don't have scripture to back me up, but I have seen repuatable theologians agree with me on this. If heaven is paradise, then why wouldn't the creatures we love be there? Your dog was made by God and has life. Also, we think of God's grace. This means Him giving us love and salvation even though we are sometimes bad and don't deserve it. I think dog in heaven is proof of this grace. After all, your dog has done at least one naughty thing. Mine drinks out of the toilet and hasn't came every time I called her. I would imagine your dog has done something like this at least once. Therefore, I think she will go to heaven as proof of God's mercy and grace.

God created the animals and said they were good (Genesis 1:25). Therefore, there is no reason why there could not be animals on the new earth (Revelation 21:1). There will most definitely be animals during the millennial kingdom (Isaiah 11:6; 65:25). It is impossible to say definitively whether some of these animals might be pets we had while here on earth. We do know that God is just and that when we get to Heaven we will find ourselves in complete agreement with His decision on this issue, whatever it may be.

a lot of people believe that pets go over the "rainbow bridge"

i personally believe that if you think people can go to heaven, then why can't animals?? both of my dogs were the best ever and both died within the last year and a half, and my family believes that they are on their way to the "rainbow bridge" and will meet us when we die.

i hope your dog gets better, but if it doesn't and it has to be put down or whatever.. you should know that it won't be suffering anymore and that it will be in a better place waiting for you.

I know they do. I've had many beloved pets over the years, and some of them, after they've gone, have let me know that they're still with me, in startling ways when I wasn't even thinking about them at that moment. Everything that lives has a soul. I know I'll see them again, and if your dog passes, you'll see her too.

There will be people who will give you hateful answers to this question. Ignore them. They're wrong.

Blessed be, hon, and I hope your friend gets well.

Have you ever read the Rainbow Bridge?
I know it sounds gay, but it's a poem about losing a pet. Check it out.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

My dad is a minister. He says that dogs have spirits. A little boy was clinically dead. He said he saw his dog waiting for him down a long black corridor. He came back to life but he wanted to go to Heaven and see his dog. My mom told me this after my dog died. I don't know if she made it up or if it was true. This story has helped me when I put my dog to sleep after having him for 15 years!

Dogs go to dog heaven. Of this I have no doubt. My kind of God would always welcome any creature that shows the same commitment to a relationship that a dog offers .

I believe all beloved pets go to heaven--you know, over the rainbow bridge? So sorry to hear your dog is sick...she will certainly be in heaven. God bless.

Ahh...that's cute. Of course!! There's a Doggy Heaven and a Kitty Heaven. Maybe they don't have a different Heaven...

But remember you'll see her one day. I remember when I was about 5 and my mom's cat died. Her name was Madeline. (Though pronounced like Mad-a-lin) She was my favorite animal! I loved her so much and I cried forever. My first word was Kit-Cat. *Sob*
