Well it isn't exactly being "social" what we call socializing in our culture. Its more getting off on the social ego as a way to ignore the ever dieing personal ego we all hide. So your right the act of "socializing" make us forget what we really NEED to do which just scews our lives worse.... but understand that the reason why has to do with a the way that parents have all raised their kiddos basically the sameway. They get them to a point were TV takes over then wait for them to get old enough to kick them out of the house, so they can go to being selfish kids again, then the cicle continues. So with so many kids out there by themselves, doing it for themselves, no wonder they don't want to think about what it is they really need, half of them need to give their parents a swift kick in the....
