i think that would be a good idea because alot of people don't vote because of the poor candidates rather than because they're lazy. it would give people the opportunity to use their vote and show dissatisfaction at government.

The problem here is that, while we think we are voting for a specific ticket, we are actually voting for electors pledged to that ticket. While it is theoretically possible to return to the system envisioned by the draughters of the Constitution by naming electors pledged only to elect the best candidate, these electors would have none of the money required by current campaigns.

No. Where would that leave things then? If None of the above won, would the process just start over? Would the former president just continue in office until we could elect someone? No, that is too dangerous.
