I'm an American, and I like BBC stuff
I always got a kick out of "Are you being served" LOL.. what a cute show. Good for lots of laughs.
We also used to love "Dr. Who" (especially when Tom Baker was the doctor)
I'm enjoying renting the James Herriot "All Creatures Great and Small" T.V series from the library. I like it alot too.
Music.. before I comment I must say I'm weird because I'm alot more into music from the 60's then the most current stuff.. so anyway..
No one will ever top the Beatles. Thank you guys for sending them our way. Also the Stones and other cool 60's british singers. Not familiar with a lot of other English music (sometimes we Americans aren't exposed to alot of it) but if they're a sample of what you all over there put out, then I'm impressed.

The same as I think about American music, movies, and TV shows, there is a lot of good stuff out there, but there's also bad. Most of what I've seen/heard is pretty damn good though, The Streets, Monty Python, The Office, Shaun of the Dead, The Beatles for goodness sake, Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch (both which are mostly British).
But then there is Jason Statham and Christian Bale, products of the U.K., and by far the top two hottest men on my list...what I wouldn't do to them. Yes, Britain puts out some real quality stuff.

Music from the U.K has always been very popular here in the States. Starting with the British Invasion, the proliferation of Glam Rock, and the term New Wave refers to the new wave of british bands becoming poular in the states. Followed by a resurgance of british invasion in the mid 1990's with bands like Blur, Oasis, and Bush topping the charts.
I have to say though that movies from the U.K. aren't very popular here, and T.V. is limited to the classics and those with cult followings. Dr. Who, Monty Python, Masterpiece Theatre. ect. But recent popularity in shows like The Office, Coupling, and Footballers Wives, as well as BBC America being picked up by more and more American services, the future of British entertainment is becoming much more relevant to the tastes of the American populace.

It's pretty much listening to our own music. If we like it, we like it. The music is fairly similar to our own and sometimes I'll listen to a song and have no idea it's from the UK.
TV is different only because of culture differences. I myself am a huge BBC fan, but a lot of the things on there would be too risque for some of our daytime television. I personally think we're too strict.
I absolutely loved Coupling. There was an american version and it was AWFUL. Goes to show that american censorship can ruin great UK television.

regularly American. in spite of the very incontrovertible fact that there is a lot of superb British music around at present. i admire Lostprophets - who're Welsh. Radiohead are stunning too, in spite of the very incontrovertible fact that they don't look to be enormously much as good as they was. Skunk Anansie have been the excellent English band ever! that's in basic terms a actual shame they ain't mutually anymore. lol :-)

Well there was that rather obscure group, the Beatles, or something like that, I understand they were rather popular somewhere. Movies? You mean like Michael Cain in drag or something? "Filmed at Pinewood Studios". Television? AbFab, Waiting for God, Faulty Towers, Are You Being Served, Keeping Up Appearances?.... Never heard of them.
