I'm leading a 30 minute booth on Maple Syrup. The age group spreads from 5 to 10 year olds. I cannot think of any craft to do.

The craft must center around Maple Syrup, Maple trees, and/or Maple leaves. Reply soon, I need good Ideas.

If you can bring utensils, you could make no-cook maple candy and let them press it into molds or make it into shapes. http://www.fs.fed.us/npnht/education/candy.shtml

You can find the molds in craft stores. I have maple leaves, but I also have fairies, lighthouses, and seashells.

I like the previous answer...

You could also get some maple bark and make stamps... the kids could do designs with paint or ink.

The first thing I thought of was a maple-syrup "smiley-face" making area... either on pancakes or paper-plates !

If you can get hold of some of the leaves, you have have them make pressings or pictures. Or you could teach them a simple pancake recipe using a portable griddle (popular as they get to eat them with tons of maple syrup afterwards).
