How do you know if your syntax is correct when converting word to .txt file?

Unless you have only text in the Word document, don't try to export to .txt. .txt is far too simple a format to take any kind of advanced formatting.

Syntax doesn't change when you convert from Word to TXT. All that is removed is the formatting for Word or Rich Text. Use WORD to verify grammar and spelling and then save to TXT format. You should be fine.
