Dont be worrying if that is the case most heartbeats can't be detected until 9 weeks or later

I am six weeks today, and just had my first appointment this morning. There was no heartbeat that we could detect. They did a regular in-room ultrasound, then an internal one, to make sure there was a baby in the sack...and there is. I will go back in 6 weeks for my next checkup. The doctor isn't worried, so neither am I. From what I learned, it is during the sixth week that the heartbeat starts. If you start to get really worried, though, I would get back in touch with your doctor; the stress won't be good for you or the baby. Take good care of yourself!!

the doctor didnt want to see me until 10 weeks, which is when i got to hear the heartbeat. they did warn me that 10 weeks is still too early to detect heartbeat so not to be alarmed if they couldnt find it. i would assume the same at 6 weeks. no worries.

dont worry, i didnt get one until 10 weeks, it depends on the position of the baby, 6 weeks is still really early. they did an ultrasound on my at 6 weeks and couldnt even tell i was preggo! the most common time it hear it is 10-12 weeks. if there was no heartbeat im sure you would start to bleed, so if you havent, no worries. and that is every preggo womans fear we all had it. good luck and congrats

I didn't get a heartbeat until I was about 9 weeks or so. I was scared until they did an ultrasound and found out I wasn't as far along as was first told....Don't worry though-9 weeks is about the average...

During the sonogram at 7 weeks I heard the heartbeat. With the handheld doppler my doctor heard it at my 11 week visit.
