I hated it. Although it wasn't a terrible movie, it clearly dimmed in comparison to the other two. The first one was very true to the comic-style of the series. The second seemed to get away from it a little, but the story, action, and fight sequences more than made up for it.
This one was terrible. I think they tried to bring in too many villains that required too much back-story explanation and build up. They should have left out Sandman and just gone with Venom and Goblin. Goblin's story was already established and would have made a nice backdrop. Then they could have really focused on Venom.
As far as the handling of Venom, I thought they did a bad job with that, even. Yes, the suit brings out Parker's dark side, but it didn't turn him gothic. It brought out his inner rage and darker motives. They tried to humorize it WAY too much by making him some sort of lady-killer "Disco-Fever" wannabe. The movie was waaaaaay too corny, which I think can be credited to the fact that they made it and then went back and watched it and realized how bad it was. Then, they just started throwing in random bits of humor that just didn't mesh very well, if at all. If it were a stand-alone film, it probably would have been fine. But when they did such a phenominal job with the first two, it's clearly going to stand out that more time and energy was put into "Which villains can we throw in here and how many can we get away with."
Then, of course, the ending. It's like the writers said to themselves "Let's wrap up all of these ongoing stories in the crappiest way possible... in 5 minutes."
I think the biggest dissapointment is that I eagerly awaited this film for 8 months.

I saw it. It was ok I guess. There were definatly some cheesy lines just like the other two. The dorky dance was uncomfortable but kind of cute I suppose. Honestly, I don't think these comic book movies should be all romantic. The Spiderman movies annoy me for that reason.

I wish Spiderman would move on from Mary Jane - she is annoying! I don't like Kirstin Dunst, I don't feel she's attractive enough to play a love interest to even a geeky looking guy like Tobey Maguire. But all in all I loved the movie.

I am waiting patiently to buy the full screen version of Spider-Man 3 on DVD in November, preferably on my birthday.
Although I didn't see the movie, I loved it. I have been a Spider-Man fan since I was a knee-high to a grasshopper.

Not yet. Plan on it. I'm afraid I'll be let down, though.
