I recently purchased a brand new emachines T6534 desktop computer. I just hooked it up and it seems to run fine, except the DVD/CD drive isn't working. I tried a couple of music CDs and a couple of autoload program discs. Nothing happens. I looked at the drive folder and it shows nothing is in the drive when a disc is. The computer says that the drivers are current. Any advise? Thanks.

That's EMachines for ya. Contact them and they will troubleshoot with you...it's probably a bad drive. EMachines are made from VERY cheap parts (which is why they are so cheap to buy). Since it's brand new and still under warranty, they will send you a new drive that you can install yourself...or you can send it to them (but I wouldn't recommend it since you will have to pay for shipping).

Take it back to the store.

Seriously, take it back to the store!

If you just recently purchased a product that does not work ESPECIALLY an e-Machine take it back.
