Las Vegas:
Casinos, naturally, continue to draw tourists to Las Vegas. From penny slots to high stakes table games in private salons, you'll find it there. But there's much more to Las Vegas than gambling. Our weekend itinerary highlights attractions of a different sort, from the choreographed fountains at the Bellagio to the Liberace Museum. Las Vegas is also surprisingly family-friendly. In an attempt to appeal to kids, the hotels have spent millions developing technically sophisticated indoor activities.
Miami:
If you're into sports, sunshine or salsa, Miami sizzles all year long with exciting entertainment venues and attractions, world-class hotels and restaurants, great beaches and a nightlife that never sleeps. full of hip nightclubs and pastel-hued buildings, gets all the press, other sections of Miami are just as hot and offer culture, recreation and more.

Depends on what you want. Miami is almost a third-world city now, in many ways. There are the very wealthy and there are the very, very poor. The poor are almost all hispanic - Cubans, Haitians, Dominicans, etc. There is very little integration in Miami and a tremendous underground (illegal) economy. Narcotics trafficing is huge in Miami, as is illegal immigration, and murder. Miami does well well with tourists; TV taping (it's a great location for tv and movies); and high-fashion.
LAS VEGAS: Gambling, prostitution, nightlife, high-end entertainment. LV has a large poor community (mostly black and mexican); a significant drug trafficking problem; multiple street gangs, and, of course, a large percentage of people who have a gambling addition.
BUT - LV is also cleaner, better run, wealthier (on average), growing (one of the three fastest growing cities in the US); and generally more integrated than Miami is or will be for the foreseable future.
If I had to live in one of the two places, I'd pick LV hands down.
Regards,
Edmond

Prices--Vegas. Much better packages, better offers, more freebies.
Variety of things to do---- Probably Vegas again. More to do there then any place on earth.
Scenary-- Miami. Goreous beachs , people, and trees.
Weather-- Toss up. Both have great vacation weather most of the year. Probably give the edge to Miami since Vegas has chilly winters and incredibly hot summers.

It depends on what you want. Both of them are hedonistic cities with lots of partying, but Vegas also has the added bonus of gambling and other debauchery without having to get on a boat.
