I mean like to submit it to a record company. I entered a contest, and it said send in your opening verse. I wrote it on a regular sheet of paper and sent it in. The company wrote me back and said " you have a great start on what could become a great song, but I need to add more verses, a chorus, and possibly a bridge. " To sum it up, I never took any real music classes, and I can't read music like those little signs in a song book or sheet music. I'm just a regular guy out of the streets. And I don't understand when people say I wrote a hot sixteen, or sixteen bars. What is bars? Or a bridge? Are you supposed to write it on a certain kind of paper? I thought you was supposed to write your rhymes like a normal paragraph on a piece of paper. Can anyone tell me what a bridge is or help me in anyway? Thanks.....

My husband and his best friend always wrote songs and played them at our house but never really did anything with them... I went to the bookstore and believe it or not there are many books on how to become a successful song writer, even lists of who to contact to sell your music to production companies... get to the book store!

Well, you didn't give a whole lot of details. Are you a musician? Have you already tried writing songs? Do you play any instruments? Are you looking to write lyrics, music, or both?

With the information you've given, my best answer is to just start writing. Now that I think about it, that's pretty much the only way to get into it. Give it a shot, good luck!

To be flawlessly sincere with you, as a feminist, I would not be pleased whilst I noticed those lyrics: "Don't attempt to have an understanding of me, simply with no trouble do the matters I say." "Love is a girl, I do not wish to listen to it." Don't get me mistaken, I love Michael, however he could have a few severe explaining to do.

You can start by writing poetry. Then you can turn it into a hook or chorus. If your good with beats, match it up with some beats and start playin or singing it.
