Yes, very rough. Where I live, you can get a beatdown just for looking at someone's car the wrong way. It's full of drug activity, violence, and insanity. It wasn't always like this, however. It used to be a very friendly neighborhood up until about 5 or 6 years ago.

Hm, I guess you could say that I live in a pretty rough place.
But thats because theres always some knuckleheads trying to screw up the atmosphere with their wonderful decision making in life. They are portrayed as leaders to mistaken followers and run the area like a bunch of lost souls. Alot of people just dont know any better and lack the education-no matter what race, etc. Hence, the violence, some gun shots, some robbery around here. But I have seen worse, and thank God I at least have a home. Not all rough neighborhoods are filled with the whole everyone is "ghetto". Some people just live there because it's all they can afford for the time being. You have to sacrifice sometimes. But hard work does pay off. :)
A rough neigborhood is defined so differently now to the youth-sort of cool. It's almost as if many of them want to be a part of the roughness instead of taking advantage of the goodness they already have. And to those who already live in that negative surrounding-I sympathize because there are only two ways out: Living above the influence, or joining them. But then again, that applies to everywhere. Hm...

Yes, I am from a rough Neighbourhood and to tell you the truth, i like it there. When I go on a job interview people may say that they will not employ me, but when they do, they are impressed.
When I do exceptionally well in school, people are impressed.
Whenever people hear me saying something and they know where I am from, they turn their heads in astonishment. They too, are impressed.
Coming from a rough neighbourhood doesn't mean that you have to do what every one expects of you. Impress them and prove them wrong, then they will know that it doesn't matter where you grew up once there is a will and strong determination you can make your way forward.

I grew up in Cocoa Beach during the missle race days (60s, 70's), in those days Brevard county had the best school test scores in the country (they are still quite good but not like in those days). Everyone in my neighborhood was a white kid who's Dad was an engineer out at the Cape (thus the great test scores, we had great demographics..duh)...what a great place to have grown up...and though we played hard and had our share of fights I would say Nope to the rough neighborhood question...

Are you kidding or what? The streets of the Hood in L.A. It's so rough, that if they built a rollercoaster here the scariest part would be the flat part on the bottom. In kindergarten we didn't play with our blocks, we practiced reloading our Glocks. Boooya, roll on down and buy us a 40.

I didn't use to live in a rough neighborhood, but now it is kind of rough. Hopefully, I'll be able to get out of there soon though.

south C-bus, in my neighborhood there is Latin Kings on one block, bloods on the next, and alot of crip neighborhoods just to the north. don't wear the wrong color or style for where your going and keep your clicker on ya. about 99.9% of the time there is at least 2 murders (reported) a day around here and more drugs and robbings, non lethal shootings and beatings than you could imagine. shitt son, we even got alkiada up round here. i'm a legal US rezident, i work a ligetimit job (construction) for my cash and just drink and smoke weed and cops know that cuz they see me going and coming to and from work all the time so they never *** with me anymore. i'm a ****** model citizen round here.

I live on the edge of a neighborhood that has a gang and crack houses and prostitutes and heavy police presence. I think the war starts as soon as school is out.

I use to but I don't anymore. One day when I lived in this particular neighborhood, I came home from work only to find the S.W.A.T. team fanning out behind the trees on mine and my neighbors lawn. They just ignored me and I quickly got into the house.
