people wont read the link because they rather bash you for expressing an opinion that contradicts what they are being fed. Because of that, people who identify more with liberalism are seen as anti-american, communist, unpatriotic, terrorist supporters who now apparently hate divorce, religion, and every other insult you can think of that neocons sling to point direction away from their own mistakes.
i only became liberal because this administration has demonstrated to me that republicans are not running this country correctly........im more moderate than anything, but you must be a fool to still think we are over there in Iraq for the good of those people

Indian, Chinese firms to get oil contracts from new Iraq govt
[7 Apr, 2007 l 1116 hrs ISTlPTI]
WASHINGTON: Despite whispers in some quarters that the Bush administration invaded Iraq to take control of its oil, the first contracts with major oil firms from Iraq's new government are likely to go not to US companies, but rather to firms from China, India, Vietnam, and Indonesia. "While Iraqi lawmakers struggle to pass an agreement on exactly who will award the contracts and how the revenue will be shared, experts say a draft version that passed the cabinet earlier this year will likely uphold agreements previously signed by those countries under Saddam Hussein's government," CNNMoney.Com has said in a report citing energy experts.

I mean water thats every where . right , well he's gone . he came up missing ( my uncles friend) they made him disappear and when the family went to his house the water running car was gone along with all of his inventions and paper work . Nobody has heard from this guy in 9 years . he is presumed to be dead . See thats what the fights about showing that the government is in charge and always will be .

You can say that the sky is pink with purple polka dots. You can scream it from the rooftops, you can post it on every web site, you can call anyone that denies it a fool. But all of that does not change the reality that the sky is blue.
The war is not about oil. Oil is a minor factor at best, the primary reason was the long term safety of our country and the world. This is reality, you don't have to accept it, but that does not make it any less real.
The truth will set you free, but only if you have the courage to accept it.

I don't do links, Sorry. Also, I don't accept biased opinions as fact. I read/listen to several credible sources before forming my own opinion. I do agree that the Iraq war is badly mismanaged and is not only about fighting terrorism. Nor is it all about the oil. Iraq is a visible face on the global fight against terrorism.

Okay, I read it. Your point is incomplete. Of course we have high stakes in middle east oil. Everyone has known that for a long time. I believe that you are forgetting that by allowing terrorism and terroristic thug dictators to rule that region we do in fact threaten our security at home. Our interest in helping to set up a US friendly government in that region is noble and just. Terrorist groups that control vast riches are becoming increasingly dangerous (as 9/11 demonstrated).

It is not about oil. I don't have to click on links to any more goofy left wing weblogs to know what it's about. It was about toppling a mass murderer who harbored bad intentions towards us and was seeking ways to kill us. Now it's about settling a civil war and allowing the democracy to take place. I'm really sorry about your delusions that this is about oil, but the only part oil is playing in this is that it will allow Iraq to pay its bills. By the way, you post a question on an open forum, you don't get to pick who answers it. My Patriotism is not misguided but your radical support for those who intend us harm may just be the result of all this left wing propaganda crap.

well, you have the right to believe what you want. I do think the majority is about oil and control. But more importantly, i think it all stems to the almighty dollar. Think about this, we have a major contribution in the controlling of the oil. But we are paying how much on average for fuel? I personally feel, when you put career politicians in charge, no matter dem or rep, your asking for trouble, for they have there hidden agenda's.

Ohhhh, I'm now so enlightened. What if the war was soley about oil? I mean, clearly it's not but even if your dream came true and every republican leader made a statement that it was, aren't we pretty dependant on oil? Libs won't let us drill in our own country, nobody has a better energy source, liberal gasoline additives double the escalation price of gas, oil is the lifeblood of the country.

I will read the link momentarily, but tell me, if this war IS about oil, why the H E double-L are gas prices at record highs? Would we not have tankers docked bow to stern from here to there so we could enjoy 25 cent/gallon gas? No? Hmmm, perhaps you didn't see the Yahoo article TODAY about 25 cent per gallon gas.

Why should someone have to look at your propaganda link?
If all this was for oil, why not Saudi? Qatar? Kuwait? Russia? These places have oil as well. If we do now have control over all this oil, why are we paying over $3 a gallon at home?
Was there some misrepresentation? You bet.
Here is my one request, IF a Democrat gets elected President, don't cry and make sure you face reality when the Republicans start beating the dead horse.
