We only ever had bread and dripping. We used to dream of jam.

I should have been born British...I love everything about the Brits...Tea seems like such a wonderful little adventure....

But I always thought that the TEA was the main part of it....
Didn't realize it was a little meal (except for the scones and bisuits with jam, etc. )

(and yor biskit ain't REEL biskit like we got down here in the Deep South of these United States)

Well, being an American, we never used the phrase "tea's ready", but I always had a snack at 3 o'clock. (isn't that high tea time?) I always hoped it was a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup. Grilled cheese sandwiches always bring back happy memories of my childhood.

When I was younger I always hoped it was Peanut Butter and Marshmallow Cream :O) Yummy , Now I couldn't Even think about eating that I hate peanut butter now , But Tea is good LOL

Home made meat and potato pie with mushy peas, my mom was the best cook in the world and I would do anything to share a meal with her again.

Spam,eggs,chips and beens,bread and butter,and a mug of T.and if we were realy lucky we got an iced bun for afters.

That it was exactly what she told me it was, if it was the tea is ready, then I would assume that the tea was ready!
And if it was supper's ready, well that meant that supper's ready... yawl come n eat!
