I feel like cops should actually get a mandatory 4 times the maximum sentence for a cirme they are found guilty of for three reasons. And I think their time should be served, full term- no acceptions(meaning, no parole for good behaviour).
A) They knew it was a crime(or at least should have known, since they are the law)
B) They are abusing the power of the badge when they commit a crime.
C) Rarely are cops prosecuted because of their position.

I think 4 times the max is a little much. But, I think they should be held accountable more than your average Joe Schmo. I don't think they should be allowed a "get out of jail free" card because they have a badge. I think they should be prosecuted as harshly as possible BECAUSE they have a badge.

This is America, the punishment should fit the crime.

I disagree! Everyone knows when they break the law, not just the police. If anything, we in America should be paying our police much more than we do. I believe it is hard to police others who are living much better than they are. I do agree that police should be treated like everyone else and be prosecuted.

On this one i have to disagree, though i know where you are coming from I think they should get whatever we would get, no exceptions instead of getting away with it because of their position. We all do naughty things from time to time and we know whats right from wrong also. Whats good for one should be good for all.

so if they get the death penalty we have to kill them 4 times?
i dont think they should get 4 times the sentence.......
i just think anybody who commits a crime should always get the maximum sentence and nothing less..........
there shouldnt be parole at all...........
