Could be a dimmer switch which restricts the flow of electricity to the bulb causing a buzz from the switch.

Energy efficient light bulb, should stop after a few minutes once it's warmed up.

Normal bulb indicating the element is close to failure and the current is resonating. The simple fix is change the bulb.

If it is none of these it could be a loose wire at which point check the wiring. If you are not 100% confident with working on electrical devices get a professional in, and remember safety first you could end up burning the place down if you make mistakes.

I have an energy saving lightbulb on a dimmer switch that buzzes whenever its on.

I have no idea why it does it (although I do think the two are incompatible - that may be the reason!!!) but it hasn't blown up yet!

The question should not be why, but what can I do about it?
It could be a short, electricity not going where it should.
Ask a respectable electrical business for help and advice.
