I am 18 years and engaged isn't something scary to me but, MOTHER IN LAW..... Now that word scares me...lol
Well, not really but, how do we deal with our problem without hurting her feelings....
My fiance has always had his mother there.... "mommy's boy"
well, lately we moved in together and she's always snooping around making rude comments about my place....
It's not so much that we're a mess or anything more like criticize that I'm high maintance and that I have the money to get what I want... You see I've been saving my money along with my guardian's help and now I can live the same lifestyle I lived when I was at home and she's like I wish my bed was that big... Sorry I can't afford it. In my day we washed our own dishes.. Not some machine, you can't trust. In a way it makes me feel aaahhh.
I finally told him and he understood but how do we tell her...
Will she change or does she just hate me.. or will mother in laws always be like that or why is she like that.. Please Help

A married wife is on a level with a mother-in-law. Just playing house is sort of like being a toy and has no legal standing before the law or a mother-in-law.

Been there done that! Pay no mind...that's just what they do and becuase you are young it is a little hard to understand. Trust me! Don't take any of her comments personal. Just play it cool... You have to respect her though cause she is the elder and your in-law. Keep being who you are and as you mature you will eventually see things differently and maybe even look back and laugh you know. She won't change but you will cause you are younger. Take her opinions with a grain of salt. One day you will need them but not now so just stay open in your own way.
