Yep. It's called 'justification' or 'rationalization'. We humans have a funny way of being able to justify just about anything we want to do.

Yes, Ive cleaned the oven. polished mirrors, tidied the house and garden. Even when it dint need doing.
Just to take my mind off worries at the time.
I guess its just a way of keeping occuppied during times when we dont want to be sitting around for whatever reason.

no doubt i do it regularly but not as bad as a friend of mine who does it constantly and it usually involves spending money so she is in incredibly debt. listening to people rationalise with themselves is unbelievable, the lies we tell ourselves! and yes I'm guilty too don't worry.
