It can be,. . . and then again it might not be. It really depends on how long ago they dated. Are there any feelings left there? Are they still friends? If they had a mutual break up (they both agree that they are better friends) then I would say it would be okay to ask a few questions. I have a good friend, that I used to date and I actually HELP him meet women. We weren't meant for each other romantically, but I would love to see him find someone he can be happy with. So I am more than willing to help him REEL girls in.

It really depends. If the breakup was nasty and didn't end on good terms, then you shouldn't be asking her. If he broke up with her, you shouldn't ask her. If she gives you advice willingly, then yes it's fine. But if you are the one who keeps bringing it up and keeps asking and asking, she must feel uncomfortable (maybe to a point where she thinks you are just rubbing it in her face) and I think you should lay off the subject unless she brings it up herself and offers you advice. If you aren't that close, then I seriously think she isn't enjoying you talking about what you do with her ex...no one would like that. Depending on how long it's been since the break up, I think if my friend talked about what he does with my ex...excuse the lame 80s term, but he would be getting a 'knuckle sandwich.'

if she is not close friends with you why would you ask her for advice? and if the only reason you know her is because you are dating her ex than i wouldn't ask advice from her. i am sure she doesn't want to hear about him or help you out with him

Yes I would think you shouldn't be asking for advice from her, she may actually give you wrong advice on purpose if she wasn't happy about the break-up. And you are being insensitive to her feelings by continually discussing your relationship with her ex.

No, I mean a guy shouldn't get in the way.
I mean like yea dont reveal to much to her, but its perfectly fine to ask advice from her, but just watch out. If you feel like there is a wall blocking you two than ask her if she's ok with u dating her ex.
Good luck!

Yes, it is ... every relationship is different and you shouldn't rely on an ex- to give you advice, after all, if she knew the answers she'd still be with him

I think it makes you look insecure. It's devious in a way. If you don't trust the guy, you shouldn't get advice from her. Not sure if it's a trust issue but I can't think of any other reason why you would be chatty with her ???

It is weird for YOU!
Follow her advice and you too will be an EX.
Get advice from someone that you know and respect. Someone who is successful.
You wouldn't look to William Hung for advice on singing would you?
