I'm asking this question in response to an answer I was given on the last question that I asked. I had never REALLY thought about it before, although I am well aware that at least the majority of Bush's supporters are Christians (considering 80% of Americans consider themselves Christians) but I had never thought about other religions being supporters of his.

I would like to know from your personal experience if you or anyone else you know is a non-Christian who supports the war and/or Bush.

I am not a Christian, I know people of many faiths but none of them support the Iraqi Conflict. I am not trying to put down Christians, please don't read the wrong idea into my question.
My entire family is Christian and they all have different opinions on the war, and although I disagree with some they are entitled to their own opinions.

So the only question I am asking is "Do you personally know a non-Christian who is pro-Bush and/or supports the war?"

Thank you.

Leogirl,
If you read my post carefully you would see that I state that all Christians have different opinions on the war. If the country is 80% Christian and Bush only has around a 30% approval rate then it would be statistically immpossible for all Christians to support Bush.
That is not at all what I am saying...please read everything and understand it before you jump to conclusions.

I'm agnostic. I usually vote Libertarian, but sometimes I lend my support to the Republican Party if there isn't a Libertarian candidate running or I don't like the individual.

Although I wouldn't say I "support" Bush, I don't hate Bush. Sometimes I find myself liking his policies. For example, tax cuts. His tax cuts weren't as large as I would have wanted, but they were going in the right direction. I am also disappointed in his presidency and many of his policies. For example, the Patriot Act - a clear violation of the US Constitution.

As for the Iraq War, I support this war in principle. I compare leaving Saddam Hussein in power to witnessing a rape and murder on the street and not doing anything about it. I don't think the US has some god-given calling to be the world's police. I just believe that any country with the capacity and the will to do the right thing ought to.

I know that everyone criticizes Bush for the fact that no WMDs were found in Iraq, but that was never really my justification. When people were talking about WMDs in 2003, I was telling all my friends that we really need to go in to correct the foreign policy of Bush-41 and take down Saddam Hussein. I don't believe in a purely self-interested foreign policy that only advocates interference when it's beneficial to the United States. However, I don't necessarily think military operations should be harmful to the United States.

I recognize how serious this war is, how many people are dying, and how we've probably committed ourselves to being in Iraq well into the next decade, and for all those reasons I can't blame people for being hesitant or unwilling to back this war, but I do believe that the principles behind removing a murderous dictator and establishing a democratic government are good and just, even if ultimately the plan fails.

And even if some of us didn't support the war initially, we're in the very painful reconstruction phase. Germany went through reconstruction, Japan went through reconstruction - hell, WE went through reconstruction, and we all became much better countries for it. So, while I think it's going to be a very difficult battle, I do believe it's a respectable one.

Yes, I do know someone personally who is not a Christian who supports both the war in Iraq AND President Bush: My husband. He is also a staunch Republican, and US Army.
I, on the other hand, am a socially conservative, fiscally liberal Independent Christian. I'm neutral towards President Bush; I'm willing to admit he's made mistakes, but he's also done some good. As for the war in Iraq, I'm neutral towards that, too, simply because I don't think us "little people" really have any idea what's going on there. All we know is what the news media tells us, and I REALLY don't think they give us the whole picture.

I know many other soldiers who are the same as my husband: Not Christian, Republican, and supporters of both the war in Iraq and President Bush.

There are some Muslims (especially here in the US) that do support our going in there.

I think Israel supports our efforts, and that is the Jewish state.

Plus, some of the Iraqis seem to want us there.

I cannot comment any more than that. Please don't make assumptions about my personal position on the war in Iraq, I am only commenting on what I have observed about the opinions of others.

I Know Iraqi Muslims in this country whom are for the war and would love to see Iraq become a democracy. Israel supports the war because it seriously undermines Iran's extremist regime and obvious pursuit of Jihad and the death of Israel and America.

certainly, i'm a christian, and that i don't help what we are doing in Iraq, yet I do help our servicepeople over there. there is not any excuse for the abuses in the prisons, and that i don't extremely comprehend why you think of in basic terms christians may be waiting to describe such movements. i won't be in a position to describe what i don't comprehend. i don't comprehend newborn molesters or rapists the two, so don't be asking me to describe their movements the two. on the different hand, i may be suited with the government if we went into the extremely some areas of African that are continuously being invaded by ability of the muslim extremists, killing each and every individual in each and every village that may not convert. Yeah, i might decide on that, via fact its not homicide to guard the harmless from murderers. The commandment says "thou shalt not homicide", not kill, there's a distinction. i think of it may be a terrible shame on our usa if we hadn't have ultimately gotten in touch in WWII, if we did not help cease the holocaust. to stand by ability of and watch evil be committed and don't something to cease it makes the spectator merely as responsible via fact the extremely monster committing the crime. that's like the "i don't want to get entangled" syndrome maximum of fall into, people who'll watch a individual get murdered and not flow their little finger to assist. To me, they are merely as responsible via fact the murderer.

Perhaps you should ask Paul Wolfowitz (Jewish), the members of the Iraqi Parlament, President Jalal Talabani, Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, and the free people of Iraq that want us to stay until it calms down, and al-Qaeda is expelled.

I believe in a higher power but don't support organized religion.

I support our President. To me this has nothing to do with religion or religious beliefs. There are many of us out there who appear to be 'overlooked'.
