Has anyone here ever worked for Primerica?
I posted my resume on CareerBuilder and someone from a Primerica branch about 25 miles away from me called me for an interview. The interview is tomorrow, but I'm skeptical about wasting my time. I've had several people call me since I posted my resume, and most of them have been scams.
I'm wondering if this is one of those jobs where you don't make money unless you sell something. And where their turn-over rate is like 150% because no one wants to work there.
I let the guy know that I was unsure about the job, but he promised me that it was legitimate. I asked him what the pay would be and he didn't want to say. He also told me that the more money the branch makes, the more I would make. Doesn't that sound fake to you?!? I really don't want to waste my time and gas for something ridiculous, you know?
Just wondering if anyone else has ever worked for them.
Thanks!

I was recruited by them last year and a friend of mine was recruited by them in the past month. We both passed on the opportunity.

It is a legitimate business opportunity in that you can make money by selling their products. However, it is 100% commission. You will have to develop your own leads and will be targeted to pursue friends and family to begin with. So you are really left to sink or swim on your own.

It becomes a questionable business opportunity when they talk to you about recruting people to join the organization and how recruiting and building your team can be more lucrative for you than product sales. At that point, it begins to look more like MLM than a legit opportunity.

That being said, there are people there who are doing very well and making good money. I listened with an open mind, but the MLM resemblance outweighed any positives that they had to offer.

They call everybody that they can get their hands on.

You don't actually "work" for Primerica. You are an independent contractor. It is a 100% commission position. If you don't sell, you don't get paid. You are also expected to recruit others.....anyone and everyone you know.

It is a legimate company but their products a generally very expensive.

My advice......stay away.

RUN, RUN LIKE THE WIND. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR LEADS, CHURN YOUR MARKET AND THEN LEAVE YOU OUT TO DRY. I had a 500,000 insurance deal that fell through because my RVP stood me up for two appointments. Run like hell. Go to another company.
