It's interesting you should ask this...The Bible says God set a mark upon Cain after he slew his brother Abel! Although, the Bible doesn't mention what sort of mark it was.
You ask me if I were born with a birthmark tattoo, what would my symbol be? Well, the etching would have to be nearly invisible and I would prefer it to make reference to the Hebrew Heritage such as a "Star of David" symbol...
To be honest with you in recent years, I have noticed a mark on my left forearm on the opposite side of my elbow-- it is patterned in holes, and looks sort of like a star... I think all of the epidermic needles used to draw blood left an indigenous pattern there, although that can't be confirmed. Great question, though!

Depends on your religious beliefs... I personally do not believe in reincarnation, but I find the idea of soulmates and past lives interesting. I've read somewhere that people who believe in reincarnation believe that birthmarks are marks from when you died in your past life.... If you're Muslim, don't they talk about the moon and three stars somewhere in the Quar'an(sp.)? I recall hearing something about that.... If you're Christian: I don't know exactly what it means.... But, Jesus came back to life in THREE days (one day per star) and the moon... I don't know. You'll have to do some research. Maybe it has something to do with demonic hour? At 3am.... the moon since it's at the night, and each star per hour... THAT wouldn't be good. That's connected to the Devil... Anyway, I know, I'm most likely wrong. But those are some possibilities

I think mine would be something that symbolizes eternal love and forgiveness because this it what my life consists of mainly.... Falling in love, getting my heart broken, forgiving others for the things they do.... and so on.

But i wouldnt want a simple heart or butterfly i would want something complex and meaningful.

something to make people say "wow thats amazing" and it would be somewhere like my lower hip maybe....

Upper left shoulder. It would be a longsword, broken--the broken sword--symbol of my life, a life of genius and discovery and honesty lived out in a nation committing constitutional denial and sinking into pubic-interest bureaucratic tyranny and disconcepted barbarism.
One wherein no man no matter how courageous, strategically inventive, creative or hard-working can stem the forces of postmodernism alone.

Thanks for asking.

A complicated black-ink Gothic maze in the center of my back within concentric circles contoured outward from which emanate black-ink sun rays piercing arabesque symbologies on the outskirts.
