Try clicking on your start menu. Then click on all programs. Next look for your security, I have Norton, then click on that and see what you can do.

Push the "On" button.
That is about as helpful an answer as you are going to get. Considering there are dozens of anti-virus programs out there, you apparently expect all 6 billion people on this planet to know what program YOU are running and therefore instantly know how to get it working.

Depending what sort it is, usually by starting the program and using the settings with in it, Read the READ ME info that will tell you how to set it up properly.

You should have an icon on the lower-right side of the screen (in the system tray). Right-click on it and choose "enable."
