Well, though it annoys me, sometimes, they learn their lesson. Like the time when I told my boyfriend not to walk barefoot in the dark house when our electricity was off...
He interrupted me, thinking I was just bossing him. He went on and on about how he took his boots off because they were very muddy and he wasn't about to put them back on to go inside. Before I could tell him why he shouldn't go in barefoot, he stormed in and learned his lesson.
See, just a few moments before he arrived at my house, a friend who had an unruly child left. This child knocked over a whole shelf of knick-knacks and they shattered all over the floor. Her mother offered to help her child clean the mess, but with the electricity off due to Hurricane Rita, it was too dark to see. I told her I would clean it in the daylight the next morning. (My flashlight batteries had died and local stores were out of batteries so I had to wait for daylight.)
Well, my boyfriend found out the hard way that I wasn't being bossy--I was speaking up to warn and protect him from cutting his feet. He cut both feet so badly that I had to scramble to find a neighbor who still had enough gasoline to take him into town to the emergency room. (We had a major shortage of supplies and gasoline locally. So bad that even our 24-hour Walmart Supercenter had to shut down.)
I have learned to not let it annoy me as much as it used to when someone doesn't listen to me because they usually find out I was right in the first place. Some people are just more stubborn than others!

Yes, and it is very annoying! It even annoys me when my little sisters do that to my mom. Sometimes my whiney sister will want some snack like pudding or something, and she'll ask my mom for it. If my mom says no, she'll whine and cry about it and then she'll go eat it anyway.

Yeah it happens all the time. And it is very annoying because you usually have a very good reason for telling them not to do something, but they just don't listen.
Of course when you have kids, that's a never ending saga...LOL.

You know? For somebody to tell somebody to not do something Will be like a green light to do it. Take kids, for example. You'll tell them not to do what they are not supposed to do, they'll do it anyway. It is annoying but I've learned to live with it.

my daughter never listens to me and pays for it. she's always been the type that has to learn the hard way. she'll take the advice of others and will ask me my opinion, but if I offer advice, she ignores it. I get the last laugh, usually.
