It depends, but I think if you really wanted to get married they'd say yes. Not THE most romantic proposal I've ever heard, but at least they know you love them enough to want to get married so that's a plus.

I say if you want to end the relationship and end up with a bloody face, then it's the most romantic of proposal.

I was more worried about whether CC could keep me in the style to which I'd like to become accustomed but I realise now she was just stringin' me along and it was you she wanted. Well, if it's love, it's love. Just do it and ask questions later. She's obviously younger and less creepy than I am so I hope you'll be very happy. I'll just go off and weep into a bucket ...

NO! It's like saying this to propose to someone: "Well, I'm never going to find someone any better than you, so lets just get married," or, "I'm too lazy to find anyone else so I'm just going to marry you," or, "Let's just get married. We can just get a divorce later...."

If you're saying it to a stranger - not so much...

If you're with someone you know you want to marry and be with for ever etc etc - then being impetuous can be romantic - maybe there's better wording you could use though?
