It would be nice if the Religion category at least had a separate section for Christians because too often I see Christianity bashed when people are trying to just share their thoughts. If people don't want others to share what they believe, why are they even in the Religious category?
I realize that many people who call themselves Christians make a bad name for the rest of us. We are not in the dark ages, though. We have come through so much in the USA about civil rights for minorities and women's rights (as have other countries). A main point of all of that is to get people to stop believing in all the negative stereotypes and realize that we are all individuals who don't deserve to be judged or prejudged based on what others have done.
Well, then, after our nation has gone through all of that, why on earth do so many people judge and prejudge Christians based on what some have done? We are not all about hatred and judging others. Many Christians truly love others unconditionally as Christ instructed us to. Jesus died and rose again so that all may come to know Him as their Lord and Savior, so who are we to judge others. No matter what types of sin a person struggles with, we should not place one sin as worse than another. The Bible says we are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God. Therefore, true Christians do not judge others.
I just wish people would give more of us a chance instead of bashing us because of those who have done evil in the name of Christianity.
Sorry. I didn't mean to sound preachy. This is just a tender subject because it hurts deeply to be prejudged by what I believe in because others can't see that not all those who call themselves Christians are truly serving the Lord from their hearts. Take time to get to know those who do truly love the Lord and care about others.
