play the yes, uh-huh, okay, right game.

everytime they pause in their story say yes, next pause uh-huh, next pause okay, then say right and see how many repititions you can get before they realize you don't care about their boring story. I had a guy friend do this to me and now I do it to people, it's fun and can lead into more interesting conversations.

First of all no one has the right to judge anyone else because no one else is in your head but you. Second of all you seem smart and know what is going on here. It is very very hard when you get yourself into the situation that you are in. It is almost like an addiction. Your husband doesn't show you attention and so you go and find it somewhere else. It almost sounds as if you would be willing to take the next step with this guy but he is not willing to with you. I have been in this situation a couple of times. My own reasons of course but it can be torture. My advice. Sit down and think I mean really think about the situation and exactly what you want in your life. You said he is NOT something you would ever leave your husband for any way. If I were you I would have a serious talk with your husband and tell him how you are feeling. Tell him you are bored tell him you need more attention. Make date nights. But whatever you do not tell him about this other guy!!!!!! Try to work on your relationship at home and slowly I mean very slowly try to get this other guy out of your system. It sucks that you work with him because seeing someone on a daily basis almost makes it impossible to forget. Is there any way you could get another job? If I were you I would seriously start looking. Imagine what it would be like if he decided he didn't want the relationship any more and then you would still have to see him every day...It's just not good. So like I said you need to start pulling away very slowly. He's not worth ruining your marriage over. Good luck!

It depends on my mood....usually I use the fake "smile and nod" technique...but if I'm feeling really foul I use the "listen with one ear while acting extremely busy and looking the other direction" technique.

It might be boring to me and my stories are probably just as boring to them but we're all in the same ship and should look to each other.

I fart and pretend I didn't. Usually distracts them so they forget what their story was. Then the rumours spread that I stink, so I NEVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT GETTING ANNOYED AT WORK AGAIN!
Should try it sometime buddy.

Cheers.

Sometimes, yeah. I just nod my head and say occasional 'yes' or 'no' and that's about it.
