My son was only two when we had number two but he did walk a fair bit but we had a double buggy that we used for longer trips when we knew he wouldn't manage the walk. As you say you can carry baby around in the sling for six months or more depending on weight etc. I would get a good buggy board if you can, they make ones that they can turn around and sit down on when they're legs get tired. I would recommend that you start as soon as your child is walking getting out for little short walks just around your road and gradually build him/her up to longer walks. I say this because if you wait until they are two or three you may find you have a job convincing them to walk at all! My son used to walk for a good couple of hours by the time he was two and a half.
whereas you just have to look around your local area and you will see plenty of 3 and 4 year olds still sitting in their pushchairs! This is because they get harder to encourage to walk the later you leave it. My friend had her first child in a pushchair until she was nearly starting school because she left it too long to start the little walks and by the time she was getting too heavy to push anymore she just refused to walk and it was a huge battle everytime. I think you should aim for a two and a half year gap if poss, and if it is a little under that you may have to have a double for a very short time and you may get away with using it only on longer trips, the rest of the time using the buggy board. You can always sell the double after if you don't use it much. Hope this was helpful, Good Luck

Now if u want to try for another baby. Every1 saying 3 or 4 yrs is unrealistic, when u 11 month old starts walking properly then just start on little walks and build up to longer walks. My 1st is 18 months old and my next is due in october, I'm not having a double buggy they're too big, my girl walks everywhere. I'm not gonna be cruel to her I'm getting a litaf seat to go which is like a buggy board but she can sit or stand on it. When my girl gets to 3 she will no longer have a buggy its just laziness on the mums part to have a 3 yr old in a buggy, it also uses up they're extra energy when they walk. Good luck

I find you just wont do some things with 2 kids anyway that you would do with only 1. I wont take both to the mall anymore, rarely to the grocery. So to think about it, think about the places you would take 2 kids.
Also, even with a bigger toddler, they walk pretty slow, so when you're in parking lots, or have a longer walk somewhere, its quicker, easier to put them in the stroller, also to have to pick them up and push the stroller.
We have a BOB double jogger, and use that for getting our 2 & 3 year old to the park, daily jogging and running, and events like the zoo. But otherwise, dont use it.
Since you have a bugaboo, if you need one for two, look into something like a side by side, they're not as hefty as those stadium seating ones. I also liked when my youngest was under a year, putting him in the bjorn and the oldest in the stroller for walks & errands.

my son just turned 2yrs when i had my second baby there birthdays were only 5 days apart so i can under stand i got a double stroller because he still got tired of walking and if we were some where and it was around nap time he would fall asleep and i couldn't hold him and push a stroller with the baby in it or if i had to hold the baby or feed, change the baby when out it was easyer to put my older son in the stroller than having to worry about chasing him around while trying to do something else and especially if you walk you ll probable want a double stroller because they will get tired of walking or may through a fit and not want to or get tired and fall asleep so i think it would be easyer for you.I have a car but have also taken the bus and getting it and the kids on the bus is a little tricky especially if by your self.Good luck

I would say i child can go with out a stroller by 4 years old they get tried of walking so quickly and they tend to want to wander off. I have a double stroller and its very convenient. I have tried to use the sling and a single stroller that was a huge hassle.
