Paris Hilton can be sentence to 45 Days in jail because violating the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case.

Do you think that if she does not go to jail, the law is for some of us only?

I think she deserves her punishment ... she is the one that violated her probabtion and got caught drinking and driving. If she does not end up going to jail that just proves that if you have money then you are "above" the law. If it was any average person they'd be thrown in jail and no one would even care.

If everyone could afford the best legal representation there would be a lot of criminals on the streets. The justice system should be the same for everyone regardless of race, sex, religion, rich or poor. I have a friend who is on parole and ran a stop sign and since he was on parole the cops searched his car and his passenger had hid a gun under the passenger seat and even admitted it was his but since my friend is a convicted felon and on parole and is not supposed to associate with the criminal element, not to possess a firearm, break cerfews and such he was violated and is in jail going to court in a few weeks to decide how much prison time he should do? He's looking at 5-10 years - so he violated his parole right. He has a wife and stepdaughter who have now lost 1/2 of their economical survival. Well if Paris violated hers she should have to face the music just like everyone else. Remember if you can't do the time don't do the crime. Here's a tip... Instead of running around drinking , risking her life and the lives of others she should respect that silver spoon she was born with a little more because I could tell you actual horror stories of how convicted felons, convicts and peoples on parole are treated. Basically Law Enforcement owns you until you are released from your parole. They can stop you at any time for any reason - send you back to jail at any time for any reason and this has to be done to protect law enforcement, law abiding citizens as well as the convicts and they will all tell you the best thing to do is be upfront and honest and admit what you did wrong. Law Enforcement respects that much more than BS.

I think Paris Hilton should not only go to jail, but she should consider herself lucky, because she did not hurt anyone or herself. She was disregarding the law, driving drunk, and could very easily have taken someones life. I bet the actor from Prison Break (Lane Garrison) wishes that he was stopped and sentenced to some minor jail time before he ruined many lives including his own due to his recklessness.

I am all for partying and having a good time, but driving drunk is no joke! unfortunately to many people seem to disagree, or just don't care.

Quotes from the Petition letter to Arnold Schwarzenegger:

"She provides hope for young people all over the U.S. and the world."

All the more reason for her to do the time, teaches young people that if you do the crime you do the time.

"We, the American public who support Paris, are shocked, dismayed and appalled by how Paris has been the person to be used as an example that Drunk Driving is wrong. We do not support drunk driving or DUI charges. Paris should have been sober. But she shouldn't go to jail, either."

Doesn't that statement contradict itself?

Shouldn't matter who you are if you did the crime you should do the time.

Wonder if they will put a seat on the toilet for her?... lol

We all should be held accountable for our actions. Yes, I do think the law is for some of us only. Many celebraties have been "let go", where if it was "one of us non-celebraties" we would be treated by all the rules of the law!
Broke probation! I have read many blogs in MySpace that people don't agree with Paris' sentence. "She's a role model for girls..." HOW?!! A very bad one!! She does Simple Life, and what else? Goes to parties and does her best to get on TV and get pictures taken. Does she ever do anything to give back to her community?

If it were anyone else that did what Paris Hilton did they would get the 45 days in jail!
Yes she should go!
Rich snot! This will teach her a lesson that she is not above the law just because she can wipe her backside with $100 bills.
She might do 48hrs in jail protective custody but not the full 45 days in regular population.

That girl is, by Matt Stone and Trey Parker's terms, a "stupid spoiled w****". Hell yeah she should be in jail. She probably takes in more alcohol before a drive in one day than regular bar visitors take in a lifetime. Alcohol is her only friend.

BTW, having nobody above the law is called, "rule of law". Nobody is high enough to break laws, even the people who make them, or in this case, people spoiled enough to get the gov't bought for them.

Send her to jail! What makes her any different by law than the rest of us American Citizens? Just because she has more money than us working class means she can be above the law. No I don't think so. She should go to jail and they should make her do work like everyone else that goes to jail. I hope she has to clean nasty bathrooms, and she gets those little ugly hands dirty.

"Do you think that if she does not go to jail, the law is for some of us only?"

Excellent point!

A no-talent, snotty rich brat should NOT be above the law...especially when that law was REPEATEDLY broken.

We can only assume that she understood what her past violations were about and we can only assume she understood what she had to do to correct her past mistakes.

And now, we can only assume that she didn't care enough to do the right thing when she once again broke the law.

Look - if you can't do the time, don't do the crime.
You don't have to be a pathetic wealthy bimbo to understand that!!!!!

Hope she enjoys her time in the pokey!
