I am 27 and have lived in the one town all my life. I am an only child of divorced parents and have always struggled to feel secure (relying to much on other people to make me happy). I am thinking about selling my house and travelling overseas for a few months. I have never travelled overseas before. I am not content with my life at the moment and concerned that I will never leave my comfort zone.
I am hoping that by taking the leap I will find independence and confidence, which are two things I really want. Selling my house is obviously a big decision but I can not afford to travel without doing so and I am not sure that I want to come back here after I travel.

no time like the present.......except you realize you won't have a place to live or money when you get back.....you'll need to save some of the money you get when you sell your house to live off of when you are done traveling so you can find a job....

oh god No,, please have a home base to come back to if you need it...don't sell..
rent out and do your travels, you must travel and see the world but later on you can always sell and do what you need to do when your situation changes..
i know a few people who have done this and have travelled for many years only to come back to nothing..and it's much harder to start over again when your older, so hold on to what you have and go off knowing that if things don't work out you have a place to go back to that is yours, and if you meet someone and want to stay in another country then it will be a great little starter when you do sell...good luck and enjoy your travels.

it would be very good to travel cause you'll feel happy. but, after all the traveling where do you come back? what would you call your 'home' now - since you sold it to travel?

i think that maybe you could sell you house but buy a smaller house that you could live in after your travel. that's just an alternative if you really really want to travel. ;]

goodluck with whatever decision you would make.
