Out of control federal spending, record budget deficits, not even one serious attempt at curtailing "social spending", a dramatically falling dollar, sex scandals that make Clinton's look normal and tame, gaining entry into an popular war that melted into an unpopular chaotic police action, I mean, seriously, how can ANYONE now take the Republican party seriously.

Unfortunately, the GOP married Satan, dressed as "the moral majority."

I think conservatives *are* usually Republican, but conservatism has undergone a shift in definition, from fiscal conservatism and government accountability toward a "moral" conservatism, which is completely at odds with the foundation of the GOP.

In short, I think the Republican party has been hijacked by "faith-based" carpet baggers.

When I go to the voting booth, I don't see options for "conservatives". As I cast my vote, I clearly know which path is better for the people of this country and who my political enemies are ... so I vote accordingly.

If there are indeed some good and conscientious conservatives out there, you are being associated with the most unethical, immoral, and irresponsible political party in American history. You would think as a group you could do better, but apparently there are many in your lot that are just as irresponsible as the party that manipulates you as it's pawns.
