Your computer is probably overheating. Open up your computer and use a can of compressed air & a vacuum to clean the CPU & heatsink. While you're at it, clean the power supply fan (unplug it first) and the computer case fan. Use the compressed air to blow off the dust, and use the vacuum to suck up the dust that's being blown off. Don't stick the end of the vacuum against anything inside the computer; Just hold the end of the vacuum at a distance where it can suck up some of the dust.

the ten-quarter-hour would be a sprint. It sounds like your computer would be overheating. video games (exceedingly extra moderen video games) stress a working laptop or computer difficult, generating lots extra warmth. If the followers can't save it cool (via fact a number of of are broken or there's a layout flaw), the computer will close down. in case you think of this would be the case with your computer, have it checked by ability of a qualified provider technician. He can replace any broken followers or upload extra cooling (followers, warmth sinks, etc) if the present followers are inadequate.

Have you added new devices to your system? (These new devices might be drawing too much power from an overworked power supply)
Have you moved your computer recently? (It might be sitting beside a heat vent or electical equipment)
Intermittant problems are often indicative of overheating. If you can eliminate overheating as the problem, check the power supply next.

this site will help you if you are using xp. if it is a virus, chances are a lot of other people will br having the same problem and a solution will be posted.
if this doesnt help, check your fan is working properly and all of your cables are connected properly. it would be worth checking these first if your conputer keeps shutting down though.

Is it a laptop? If so, it's probably overheating. That's a common cause of that problem on laptops.
If it's a desktop, check on the power supply.

Your computer may be affected with Virus. Do virus scanning completely and if you are connected with network, disconnect it . If this is not working out, format the hard drives after proper backup.

Many reasons, I would look at over-heating as the first one.
