This is a really sad question for me. My parents are both in their mid 80's and I have always gotten along better with my father, all of my life. We look alike, we think alike- everything. I've never gotten along with my mother- she's my total opposite. But as I see her aging more and more daily, I realize that I do love her. But I still love my father more and I will miss him more when he dies. I feel terrible admitting that. :o(

At one time I loved them both the same, but things that happened showed me my mum didnt really have the same feeling of love for me or my dad,my dad died 14yrs a go and I cant fill the emptiness his death left me with,we had a special relationship not in a n untoward way,he was a good man and my mum didnt realise just how much he loved her,he knew she was having an affair with his best friend and he put up with it and never mentioned it to her, when I asked why he put up with it he simply said I love her, when her boyfriend died she took an overdose and left a note saying she couldnt live without him and I was to look after my dad...
I cant even begin to imagine how that made my dad feel, I know how I felt,so my dad is the answer......

I love them both but my mother was kinder and easier to love. My father was a bit of a old fuddy duddy and he didnt show tenderness or receive the show of tenderness very easily. But I loved him just as much.

Both my parents are dead-and have been for quite a long time. But they are both still in my mind on occasion.
As a parent myself I appreciate them both more than I ever did when they were alive.
It is impossible for me to my quantify love for them, so my answer has to be
'both equally'

My Father without any question. I was his favourite daughter not that he meant to show it but he did. My mum favours my brother which leaves my little sister feeling like a misfit but they didn't mean it to be that way.

Since my mum died three years ago, I have become closer to my dad. even though I loved them both equally. However, I hope my kids love me more than they love their dad. We are separated now but even when we were together, I did more for them than he did and always will.
