Yes, and it accomplished nothing;( several years ago while I was living in an apartment complex in Detroit Mi, a friend of mine was robbed at gun point by two local scumbags while exiting his car. I called the police immediately following the incident and they didn't show up until well over 3 hours after making the call:( needless to say, the scumbags got away, and my friend was out $120.00 plus all of the contents within his wallet, and he vowed to never come back to visit me again:(

Yeah I had to call the police, because there was a man beating up a woman right outside my house! I thought he was going to kill her so I done the right thing and called the police! They came and they arrested the man, and I found out a few days later that he had beaten up someone before so he got the jail this time!

Yupp, a guy put a gun through a woman's mouth infront of our house. She wasn't killed though, thank God.
Another time was when we got robbed.
Another time was when there were people on our street trying to rob.
After, was another time when burglars came and killed really expensive dogs.
And for the last was when there was a fire behind our house, but we also called the firemen ovcorse.

This all happened in the smallest neighborhood and smallest street that almost 500 mts long, in Costa Rica.

Beautiful place, but so fricken dangerous now. Currently i'm in the Philippines and they tell me it's dangerous in Baguio City, but you havenoidea how safe it feels after livingin CR. =)

There was this crazed guy banging on the back door demanding the keys to my car. The police had him cornered about 5 minutes later. Maybe they had just received calls from others having the same problem but they they had the guy in the bull wagon in no time.

Oh yeah, I've called them for a lot of things; drunk driver, trespassing, a woman screaming for the police to be called, another woman because she said someone was going to shoot her, noise pollution, lots of reasons. I'm a security officer so it's pretty normal for me whether on duty or off. Hope this helps!!!

Yep...plenty of times when my sisters ex was beating her...or occasionally ME...to a pulp. The cops would come...he would run away, the cops would go, he would come back. They never actually arrested him in the 10 years we put up with it. Now he is doing the same to his new girlfriend...such a nice guy!

I called them when some teenage boys threatened my dad with a skateboard, they never turned up. My older friend had many incidents with a violent husband but in those days no one was interested.....

Yeah, it was a huge fire in my neighbor's house, I know I should call the firemen, but I was shocked!
