That poor man! :( He should get some kind of compensation...after all, it was malpractice on the part of the doctors for misdiagnosing him. Most people would have done the same thing had they only been given a short amount of time to live.

I know I read that and thought, "Well that's why you always want a second or third opinion." Almost as bad as the lawyer who wants to sue the dry cleaners for millions of dollars for losing one pair of pants. Sad. I mean I feel for the guy and I suspect I would have thought about doing the very same thing (spend the money) had I really thought I was going to die but I would have made sure that the diagnosis was accurate.

He's actually a very lucky . He should count his blessings. I'm sure he had a great time living these 12months spending the money and he has his health too. I think he should have gotten a 2nd. opinion on his health, before he went and spent everything. He made that choice now he has to live with it. He can try and get the money through a law suit. But I think he needs to grit his teeth and start accumulating assets through work and if any money left at all try to use to build his money up or atleast live.
Ciao

Better in the red (debt) than dead! I think it's absurd for him to sue medicine is NOT an exact science. If he hasn't been told he was going to die and died perhaps his relatives would have sued! Damned if you do Damned if you don't... The doctor didn't advise him to spend all of his money.

I'm sorry he is not getting any sympathy for me, he should be glad he is alive. My husband wasn't supposed to live through the year in 99, due to his lung disease from the gulf war, we didn't want to sue anyone we were thankful they were wrong! Some people have their priorities backwards!

So the guy is pissed he didn't die.... He would rather be dead than broke! What a idiot.... You can earn more money you don't get another chance at life!
