My husbands ex commited perjury by submitting hand made w2's that were false and tax documents that were false. She signed a form stating that all documents were correct and if they were not she would be committing perjury. Our lawyer said nobody has ever been convicted for something like this. If so why does'nt everybody get to lie in court? This ex also makes her own license plate stickers almost every year. Help in Columbus Ohio

Ohio license plate stickers would be easy to fake. I'm not going to go into detail specifically how, but they are. And they won't be run until she's pulled over for something or gets into an accident.

I agree with David M. People are convicted for stuff like this. Courts don't take lightly to falsified documents, especially when they are used as evidence in court proceedings. Like he said, your lawyer is an idiot.

Maybe this is what he meant to say: "Nobody has ever been convicted for something like this...when I'm involved because I'm such a rotten lawyer I couldn't prove 2+2=4."

If you lived near Akron instead of Columbus, I would bet I know who your lawyer is. I was on jury duty once for a civil case and the plaintiff's lawyer from Akron was so bad, I felt sorry for his client. He had the aw-shucks persona of Matlock without the brains behind the facade.

Who did she submit them to? If the IRS they'll know that they're fake as all employers electronically file a copy of the W2 with the IRS. It can take an audit for them to catch it (I'd make a report to them) though. The license plate sticker I truly dobut, even if she did fake them, she'll be listed in the computer when they run her plates as being expired, and then she'll be in trouble on more then one offense.

I'm sorry, but your lawyer's an idiot. Of course people have been convicted of this. This isn't just perjury, it's fraud. It also goes to her honesty when testifying and should be used against her in Court. Your lawyer should be making sure he/she can prove what you've alleged here. If not, you should change lawyers
