what are you talking about? you think being around things owned by a pregnant women will increase the liklyhood of a pregnancy....or that she stuff she bought has to do with babies-like a crib etc. either way, material items wont really make a difference. It is up to the woman whether she wants to get pregnant or not. Hopefully your teenage daughter is mature enough to know that it is too early to be pregnant and your wife should talk to her about starting the pill even if she is not sexually active.

Oh you are being so ridiculous. Have you TALKED to your daughter about sex/birth control? Cuz that's what you should really be concerned about. Your daughter is not going to look at these clothes and think, "Hmmm.....we got some maternaty clothes...I guess my parents are trying to encourage me to have random, unprotected sex." Or better yet, "Hmmm, now that we have the clothes for it, this is the best time for me to get knocked up. God only knows when the next garage sale will come around or how in heck we'll EVER find maternity clothes again for the next 10 years."
Come on, dude. Give your daughter some credit. Don't overract to things like this; Instead, do some of the things that actually will make her think twice before having sex....you know, like TALK TO HER. Or if you don't feel comfortable, have your wife talk to her. Good luck.

Pregnancy is not contagious through objects nor would it likely encourage your daughter to become pregnant. I applaud your efforts in your teenage daughter's life but you are headed in the wrong direction. Teach her how not to get pregnant and share with her Bible scriptures on how God feels (not just Dad) about about sex before marriage. If she remains abstinent or becomes celibate as of now, then no worries! If you have any further questions, I am here!

my thought would be lighten up. how bout teaching chldren to be responsible and trusting them to do whats right. live by example and understand you cant dictate everything they do. im a parent with two children and can tell you froml first hand experience that living the example is much more effective. perhnaps you can also show them what happens when pregnancy is unplanned or take them to an unwed mother their age from a social service agency and have them learn what happens. good luck.

I think you misunderstand the idea of pregnancy. To get pregnant you need a male and female. Orindary household goods just won't do it.
Didn't they teach you sex education at school? How did you conceive your child in the first place?

Is your daughter adopted or did the stork bring her? You shouldn't do anything, but your wife should explain the birds and the bees to you.

stop being superstitious! make complaints if the stuff is unsanitary, but not because the previous owner was/is pregnant. what are you going to do if a pregnant person is fixing her food when you're out to eat?
