What's a nice gift under fifty dollars to get a person that has been there for you when you have been upset?

The first thing is to buy her a card that expresses your feelings and if possible add your own sentiments to it. Then, if you feel it is necessary give her flowers or take her to the movies or something but please let her know how much you appreciate her kindness and try to repay her in kind along the way. These kinds of friends are few.

dinner at chili's, a gift card. I had a guy friend buy my pink roses for helping him when he had a cold. all I did was check his temp, put vapor rub on his chest to clear out the stuffiness and a dose of nyquil. the flowers were beautiful, but I was not expecting anything so it was really nice.

For a guy--a couple of great cd's, a gift certificate for dinner or a gift certificate to his favorite type store (such as electronics store).
For a girl--a nice thank you card, and flowers, a plant, beautiful candle, or a nice dinner.

You must know what she likes better than us, but I'd go for flowers. Not the roses you were deliberating over the other day, a big mixed bunch.
I remember when flowers in shops had wonderful smells, but in Europe the perfume has been bred out of them for colour and fast growth. Here in China too, but in Vietnam I smelled those fantastic aromas again that God created.
Carnations are my favourite.

1st is a Thank you Card and a nice dinner or lunch... The card will show how much you are thankful for her being a friend. Flowers always help too

Get them a nice Hallmark Card, and put a $25-50 gift card inside it, so they can go to their favourite place to shop and they can buy their own present.

Anything as long as it is from the heart. Sometimes the simpler the better. What about a nice spa day or pay someone to clean their house or detail their rig? Something that they normally wouldn't do for themselves.
