Have you ever had a friend of the opposite gender, that was really just a good friend and that you could be open with, joke around with and just be yourself with...and then after you got a little older...things somehow started to change? Like everything you did somehow became this potencial sublimal message and everything was just..so different?

Like for example have you maybe sent a friend some song or a bunch of songs that you liked, because you wanted to share them with this person and just totally didnt realize how they could be interpretated later on by this other person?

Is it really actually inappropriate to send a guy friend a love song, because you wanted to show the new song you were listening to? I was only sharing my interests...i didnt mean anything more by it. Is that how things are really seen when you´re older? wow I hadnt realize how naive i must be.....

yep, I think with time things can become a little awkward, especially when a third person is involved. but I'm sure he got your message right, since you know each other so well, so don't worry too much about it!

When i was younger, I naively believe I can be friends forever with the opp gender. Things changed when this guy reacted differently. I even openly accused at my (then) bf that he is being stupid to be jealous of my relationship with this guy as we are just friends! Apparently my ex bf was right. This male friend was getting out of hand with our relationship. He even showered me with gifts, paticularly this watch (with cartoon)that depicts a couple making love.

I was in total shock... sad at the same time. I stopped talking to him even since. Unable to resume our friendship... or perhaps he never take me as a "friend"!

I agree. I actually did the same thing before and they took it as if I was hitting on them when they had a boyfriend. Wasn't the case but things got awkward there for a bit. Unfortunatly we do have to somewhat censor ourselvves so others don't get the wrong idea.

i think that you really can have a true friend of the opposite gender, you sent him a love song and that means that your thoughts and feelings were friendly, its not your fault if your friend thought something else~
