We make exams easier so more people can pass. The internet means people can plagiarise. We are becoming more and more obese, consuming more and more material objects, abusing the planet and repleting its resources. The biggest and most powerful countries are led by the corrupt, ruthless or mentally retarded. The poor are getting poorer, the rich are getting richer. TV is dumbing down. What can we do to reverse this trend? (sorry to be drepressing)

I suppose one can only become a blossoming better example and hope others follow suit. Of course, ignorance is still bliss. That's just what we are. A foolish and blissful world. (sorry to be depressing and/or "drepressing")

To be a human is to be rational not only logical.
To be a human is to live not only to exist.
To be a human is to love not only to feel.

There is a decline in the moral area of humanity.
We have big brains with no heart.
We cannot hear any more the voice of our conscience.
We love technology so much that it makes us slaves not its master.
We value scientific progress so much as if it will give us the ultimate purpose and meaning of our life.
The ultimate goal of knowledge is not for power but to know the truth.
The internet is full of information but the challenge is within us to use that information to do good and avoid evil.
As long as we will not listen to our conscience, there is a need to increase the number of police in the society.

This is why I try to live everyday with care for me and the planet, I cant change the world in a big way but I can in a small way each baby step at a time, if everyone did that we'd make huge changes.

It has always been decaying because all the people in all of the countries are also decaying. Ruled by self-interest and personal comfort, we cannot recerse the trend. We are going to be at a 8-billion population in my lifetime - how can it get better with more people in the equation?

You got to think about very successful people like Mr. Gate, Mr Mittal, Mr.Buffet.
The reason how come they are successful and we are not?
They are very positive, have clear thinking and believe in people around them.
Had they spent their time like you , they might have put some thing here for your support.
Don't worry about the world, Don't worry about rich and poor, don't worry about corruption. Just worry about yourself. If you come up like them, only then you could do something other wise it is waste of time.

No. We MAY be witnessing the decline of a civilization, though. This is much like Rome before its fall and the beginning of the Dark Ages.

Not depressing!.. you are a realist.
I agree with you, but I also have faith that humanity will eventually find a way out of such mess.
We need to educate our societies, we need people with political and social integrity just like you!

Nothing really since people are so stubborn.
But don't worry, when its too late we will realize our errors.
Or, maybe, just maybe now, people will start acting like they are intelligent human beings and actually DO something instead of just arguing about it like we are now.
