You need:- 1 piece of board or cardboard 45 X 45cm (18"X18") 1 disposable plastic cup, red food colouring, flour, water, newspapers, plain paper, about 1 tablespoon bi-carb of soda, and around 1/4 cup vinegar and some sand.
!/ Make paper glue from Cooking 1/2 cup flour with 1 1/2 cups of water. It's done when its clearish. May thin with extra water if too thick.
2/ Then tear strips of newspaper about 2cm (1") wide.
3/ Place plastic cup in middle of board/cardboard. Stick there with some glue. (cup can be cut lower if you don't want it so high)
4/ Glue strips of newspaper from the edge of the board, and glue the other end in the cup. Keep going until you form a volcano shape. Do a final layer in plain paper. Then cover lightly in glue and sprinkle with the sand, or paint. Let dry overnight.
5/ Mix sand, food colouring and bi-carb together and place in cup.
6/ When ready to erupt your volcano, add the vinegar to the cup. The vinegar reacts with the bi-carb to release carbon dioxide. This will cause the sand/coloured mix to bubble out of the volcano, thus making it erupt.
**You may have to work out how much bi-carb to sand mix to get the results you want.

get a substantial amout of clay and mold it into a real shape volcano. make it hallow inside. get a bowl or any container that will fit in hollow portion of the clay. the container has a piping on it, 2 pipes as big as straw..but metal it can be easily inserted..at the other end of the pipes a metal container also ( this will be away from the volcano and make it hidden) put something that will produce smoke...then the other pipe...it will just manually blown to put some air pressure) put some colored red-grease like liquid in the container to make it look like a lava..so as you blow it it will be blown in the crater while some smoke is also going out in it....then you have your miniature volcano....

molding clay, food coloring. baking soda and vinager.
shape out the volcano, add food coloring to baking soda, pour vinager to erupt.

i agree with LOST above
caution: certain amounts of vinegar mixed with baking soda can cause a REAL EXPLOSION so be careful...
