You never have to think that a job is forever and don't take it home and agonize about it. It is not that important your employers might try to make you into their slave, but always find that happy comfortable spot it the back of your mind that does anything it wants to. Happiness is only a state of mind anyway. When I was in college I was also working as a janitor and believe me you got to find that happy place. A job is a job don't let it ever take over your life and dictate who you are.
If you want keep looking for a vocation that you can really be happy with you do not have to tell anyone your looking just do it. Your worth more than what any employer will ever tell you your worth so just believe that, smile and do whatever you know is best for you.

Have peace knowing that everything is temporary. Know that in time, you'll look back on the job as a memory rather than a burden of the moment.

I always daydream and think about what I'll be doing when I leave the job for the day. Get up from the desk and walk around, it helps.

I had such a job and as a result I developed an idiopathic 'balance' disorder...like vertigo--but you see the irony.

If I truly cared...I would not give you advice to bare the day, but instead tell you...it's time to go.

We all settle for fear of change, but the natural law of physics dictates that no two things can occupy the same space at a given time. If you want that fulfilling job...you must make room for it.

"and there's nothing you can do about it"...I'm sure if you think about it, you will find there are MANY things you can do to change the situation...

days should not be wasted "getting through" them...on occasion, yes, but not on a regular basis...if you do that, you are wasting your life and not using your inborn talents...

that is no way to live :(

ps...I am often unable to live by my own words...that is one of the "jobs" that I currently can't stand.

I used to feel that way until I worked my way up the ladder a bit but, before that I did a lot of day dreaming! Just listen to music and day dream. Sounds silly but, you have to get yourself into the zone that makes you not care so much.
The other thing is make a "Game" out of it. Like in your mind make up small goals even if their 'mischief' LOL Good Luck.

you must FLEE! In the long run you will thank yourself for not staying in an unhappy situation. In the meantime, while you form and begin to take the steps necessary for your nefarious escape scheme to be a success, the importance of the things that bother you at work will lose significance.

i think of how i already know the ins and outs and what i can get away with and how a new job would take awhile to get in the groove and then i tell myself that half my pay is for simply having to deal with the weenies i work with and the other half for the actual grind of it all and then i sit and weep quietly

I make notes, and write satire, or lyrics as a positive form of venting. My favorite is Titled "Living on Minimum Rage"
