Hi,
I was in Egypt for 2 weeks in trhe summer - I had no major problems with mosquitos - just take some spray with you.
I can assure you the mosquitos are the least of the problems - you need more amorous male spray!!!
The biggest thing to be aware of is not to drink the tap water..
Have fun

conrange, west nile virus is a creative name for a virus that isn't even common in the country that has a large part of the nile running through it. About the virus' name, I've always admired the lack of common sense put into the naming of viruses after all the scientific work that went into it Seems like a fun job. The next major disease thatmakes ppl. ill should be named after George W. Bush for the great things he has accomplished in this world. That'd be appropriate. Next disease should be called WMD and the 3rd could be the "Iranian Threat" or as$es of evil...
The pesky mosquito always bothers me, but while i was in egypt I had less of a problem w/ it (and i was bouncing around from alexandria-aswan) than I do w/ it in the states.

Yes there are mosquitoes in Egypt (F16 type) but nothing to worry about. It's not everywhere or all the time.
I wish if one of the 9 million tourists who visit Egypt every year can tell you a better answer than mine.

as one of the 9 million ( are there really that many of us.... ohhh thats scary) i usually get bitten several times especially if i go out to the out of doors coffee places outside the town, which are also lovely places to go. But they are no where near as bad as someplaces i have been to like florida or sri lanka.
