I don't see why not especially if Ian Paisley is going to be the first minister. "The Troubles" in N. Ireland wouldn't have carried on for so long if Paisley hadn't been there egging on the protestants. The last thirty odd years of violence here started because catholic people had the bravery to stand up and ask if their human rights and equality. Its just the same as the black people had to do in America.
Segregation and inequality is totally wrong and can never be justified. Why should someone not be allowed a house, the right to vote, the right to hold office and many other things simply because of their religion or colour of their skin.

Martin McGuinness did what anyone would do if their country was occupied by a foreign power. He fought back.
In the nineteen sixties, Irish Catholics and sympathisers formed the civil rights movement, much like the blacks in the US, to try to change the terrible inequities in the six. However, loyalists would have none of it. They attacked our peaceful marches and beat the participants. It was in response to such intransigence and brutality that many people, including Martin McGuinness, turned to or joined the modern incarnation of the RA.

Martin McGuinness, Gerry Adams, Patrick McGee and numerous other NI terrorists' remains should be rotting beneath the cobble stones of English prison courtyards.
The traitor Blair acquiesces to his Catholic cronies instead of serving the people who so foolishly elected him.

What about Rev Ian Paisley then - his hands are bloodstained as well - maybe not directly but he knew.
There comes a time when you have to say enough is enough and sit down and remove your prejudices and beliefs and work together.
No matter what all the people involved have done - the time has come to stop and work together and forget the past.

Life moves on. McGuinness was once a terrorist and Paisley once a bigot. Now they are partners in Government and committed to peace.

He seems to me to be a strong leader of his people. We could do with people like him in charge of this country.
