There are lots of choices. Usually it changes over the years of college life.

High school is McDonald's and Safeways type jobs. University night time work is good, being waiter means tips and flexible work. But try work like builders laborer (keeps you healthy too), warehouse packer (more heavy lifting for fitness) and so on. Security work pays resonably well, and it has flexible hours.

After 2nd year your options open up, and you are trying to get ahead in your career. Telemarketing, door to door sales, surveys all sound like terrible work, but are good to have on your resume. Other options are sales work in shops (clothing shops like young people or bookstores...for discount books).

Then you want to head into more professional work related to your major. If you study business or accounting, then it is not so hard to find some book keeping, general office work. The pay is better, and they are often happy to have a young keen person to help around the office and take on extra duties for little extra pay (helps you find work later).

There are lots of jobs on the internet which you may try... Some are free, while there are also some that may requires a small joining fee that won't burn a hole in you pocket. Stuffs like reading emails for cash, or clicking on advertisments for cash... They dun make you rich, but provide some extra cash for own use...
Try this for starters....
