Fear and lying were the most virulent themes of the last presidential election. Fear did smother our objectivity. A day or so after 9/11, Bush has an approval rating of 93%. Today it is 28%.

Karl Rove is not the cleverest. He is the dirtiest.

The last fiscal Republican was Ronald Reagan, but you have to remember that he drove the deficit out of sight and took money from Social Security to further pad an enormous defense budget. Clinton maddened the Republicans by being more a Republican than a Democrat. He balanced the budget, eliminated the deficit, had surplus in the economy and got impeached.

The Republicans love Rove for how he enabled Republicans to use fear so to get elected. He did not fly in 2006 and will not in 2008.

Defending our country after over 30 years of attacks, was one of the greatest things George Bush did. History will show him to be the strong leader he is. Just as history will remember Carter as our wekest President and Clinton for running around the White House with his pants down. Time always uncovers the truth. Ask Harry Truman...whose approval ratings were the lowest in history when he left office.

From your question..."Does anyone out there think that a Democratic president would have persuaded Congress to spend over a trillion dollars in a war in Iraq?

Does anyone out there think a Democratic president would have persuaded Congress to spend over a trillion dollars on anything?"

No to both questions. The Democratic candidates would've sat on their hands waiting for UN permission to act (which, of course, isn't coming). Only when a major U.S. city was reduced to a smoking hole in the ground would they have acted. Then, losing a few thousand soldiers to fight on foreign soil would look like a bonafide bargain compared to losing millions here at home.

BTW, You have to differentiate between unwarranted fear and justifiable fear. All of the fear that we've experienced since 9/11 is completely and utterly justified.

definite - at the same time fat, crimson, horrid little Karl and his pal, Li'l Bush, are into treason in the Beverly Plame case. i've got been waiting for Li'l Bush to poop out a pardon for Karl. A pardon previously the conviction would be thrilling, yet Ford have been given away with it whilst he "pardoned" Nixon years in the past. So it relatively is accomplished. Stand by skill of for information - and then stand by skill of for offended republican lies and denial.
