Anything about election is good for democracy because it helps the people for the right choice of leadership.

If being informed leads to socialism than you are absolutely correct. However I believe the ideal behind Project Vote Smart is that an informed voter cannot vote for the wrong person. It is thier choice based on facts; nonpartisan, un-bought facts. You are presented the same information, or whatever the candidate was willing to fill in, for anyone who filed with the FEC, then left to your own devices.
